Which movement is inside?

Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic (date) or Miyota 9039 automatic (no-date). Hacking seconds, hand-winding, –10 to +30 seconds/day. The no-date 9039 has no phantom crown position: every stop does something.

How often should the seals be checked?

Every two years, and after any hard knock. Seals age, and a knock to the crown can affect them.
