Warranty

Every UC1 Recurve carries a two-year international warranty.

It runs from the day the watch is delivered and it belongs to the watch, not the owner. If you sell or give the watch on within the two years, the warranty goes with it. Every UC1 Recurve will be numbered, and we will keep a record for each one.

What it covers

Defects in materials or workmanship, including:

Unicrown system

Crown drive, inner bezel indexing and seating

Case

Case body, crown, tube and seals

Movement

Miyota 9015 or 9039, keeping time within −10 to +30 seconds a day

If a covered fault appears, we repair or replace the affected part. The watch keeps its number.

Water resistance

Every UC1 Recurve will be pressure-tested before it ships. Water resistance can’t be guaranteed for good: seals age, and a knock to the crown can affect them. We recommend a seal check every two years, and after any hard knock.

A leak caused by a manufacturing defect is covered like any other defect. We inspect the watch and decide the cause.

What it doesn’t cover

• Normal wear: scratches, brushing wear, strap and bracelet wear, and the slow dimming of lume.
• Damage from impact or a drop, including a broken or chipped crystal.
• Water damage caused by an impact; hot water, saunas or steam; using the crown underwater or not pushing it fully in; use beyond the rating; or seals that have aged past their service life.
• Work by anyone other than Kintao on the Unicrown system, and any damage caused by third-party work. Having the movement serviced by a qualified watchmaker does not affect the warranty on the rest of the watch.
• Modification, misuse, theft or loss.

How a claim works

Email hello@kintao.com with the watch number and a photo or short video of the problem. We reply within three working days.

If the watch needs to come back to us, we send you a returns note. You send the watch to us; we cover the return to you once the work is done. Most repairs are back with you within six weeks.

If we find the fault isn’t covered, we tell you what it would cost before doing anything, and you decide.

After the two years

Unicrown work returns to Kintao at a fixed service fee, published when the first watches ship. The movement can be serviced by any qualified Miyota watchmaker.

This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, which it does not affect.
